RAMP - Rathmullan Music Project
RAMP brings to the beautiful seaside village of Rathmullan a weekend of events showcasing the breadth and depth of experimental music and sound currently being produced.
Events by artists immersed in the worlds of improvisation and musical experimentation include workshops and performances by harp player Rhodri Davies, vocal group Landless and pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett.
There are concerts of improvised music with Una Lee (voice), Rob Casey (piano), Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh (viola), David Lacey (percussion), Aonghus McEvoy (guitar) as well as an immersive performance of Michel Chion’s masterpiece of electroacoustic music, “Requiem”.
Community events include a performance on self-made instruments by Ed Devane with children from St. Joseph’s National School, Rathmullan and a guided soundwalk with naturalist Aenghus Kennedy.
A sound installation at one of Rathmullan’s most iconic locations, the Battery, completes the programme.
RAMP is supported by The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, Contemporary Music Centre Rathmullan The Way Forward & Earagail Arts Festival.
