9th – 26th July 2020
In July 2020 we were delighted to bring you a re-imagined condensed festival of Srutháin (Small Streams), an 18 day line-up of online and radio performances, interactive arts, masterclasses and nomadic popup theatre.
Whilst the challenge of the recent times pushed us all into new and unchartered territory, Earagail Arts Festival, gratefully supported by our funders was, and is, committed to ensuring the survival and sustainability of the arts sector in Ireland, by supporting the artists who were due to present their work this year. And whilst we will never replace the multi-sensory, real life physicality of in person presentation, all artists within this programme responded with passion, determination and ingenuity to share their creative output with you. We also wanted, as much as possible, to contextualise the festival in the place that has inspired so much creativity, therefore many of these works are rooted in the landscape and set against the backdrop of one of the greatest stages in the world….County Donegal.

9-26 Iúil 2020
Tá an-lúcháir orainn a bheith ábalta féile athshamhlaithe níos giorra de shrutháin a chur in bhur láthair, ina mbeidh tob-amharclanna fáin, mionscannáin faisnéise, léiriúcháin ar líne agus ar an raidió agus comhráite idirghníomhacha le linn na ndátaí a bhí againn ón tús: an 9 go dtí an 26 Iúil 2020.
Cé gur chuir an dúshlán a bhí ann le tamall anuas muid go léir i dtreo úrnua nach raibh cur amach ar bith againn air, tá Féile Ealaíne an Earagail, le cuidiú fial ónár gcuid maoinitheoirí, ag iarraidh a chinntiú go mairfidh earnáil na n-ealaíon in Éirinn agus go mbeidh sí inbhuanaithe, trí thacú leis na healaíontóirí a bhí lena saothar a chur i láthair i mbliana.
Agus cé go bhfuil sé doiligh an taithí ilchéadfach a shárú a bhíonn i gceist agus duine ansin ina steillbheatha, tá na healaíontóirí ar fad a bhí mar chuid den chlár i ndiaidh glacadh leis an dúshlán le paisean, diongbháilteacht agus clisteacht chun a saothar cruthaitheach a roinnt libh.
Bhí muid ag iarraidh fosta, oiread agus a thiocfadh linn, an fhéile a chur i gcomhthéacs na háite atá i ndiaidh an oiread sin cruthaitheachta a spreagadh, dá bhrí sin tá go leor de na saothair seo fréamhaithe sa tírdhreach agus ceann de na stáitsí is fearr ar domhan mar chúlra acu, is é sin, Contae Dhún na nGall.
