Oil Painting Weekend Masterclass with Ann Quinn

Donegal artist Ann Quinn leads an immersive two-day masterclass on oil painting.

Ann will guide participants to create their own unique paintings by looking at photo-based imagery that expresses a visual narrative of a place/space that is of significance to the participants. People with all levels of experience in painting are welcome to take part.

Through demonstrations, Ann will cover many different painting techniques and ways to use artistic mediums, so you get the most out of the traditional methods of painting with a brush.

Ann uses her own photographs as preparatory sketches and references, which bring enhanced clarity to what she sees and paints. This masterclass focuses on how photography can be used as a source for developing memory and imagination.

Ann has exhibited widely throughout Ireland. Read about Ann’s practice, her influences and journeys in art on her website http://www.annquinn.org
