Diane Cannon with Manus Lunny & Theresa Kavanagh, Clann Mhic Ruairí & Honeyfeet

Be part of the live audience for the second of two very special nights in An Grianán Theatre, featuring Donegal’s finest alongside some international guests, filmed for broadcast on TG4 at a later date in 2022/2023.

Forged out of the centuries-old traditions of her native Donegal, Diane Cannon is a singer who brings the songs and the music played by the hearth fire of a long gone céilí house, to the sophisticated tastes of a 21st century audience.

Manus Lunny lives in the Donegal Gaeltacht and comes from a family steeped in the musical tradition of Ireland. Manus is a gifted instrumentalist, singer, composer and producer and has earned a reputation as one of the most significant performers from the Irish tradition, adding a contemporary vein to the heritage of traditional music and song.

Theresa Kavanagh has performed at some of Celtic Music’s largest festivals, such as Celtic Connections, Le Festival Interceltique de Lorient and Celtic Colours, and has also worked with some of Irish music’s top artists such as Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Manus Lunny, Michael McGoldrick and Donal Lunny.

Clann Mhic Ruairí is a Donegal family group, made up of siblings Tony (singer), Aodh (singer/guitar), Seán (singer), Dónall (singer/percussion) and Tony’s daughter Megan (piano and singer). As a family they were raised on the Gaelic songs and stories of the Rann na Feirste Gaeltacht. Hearing their music gives the listener an insight into this rich culture which they continue to preserve.

Honeyfeet have spent the past nine years tearing around festival stages and theatres, clubs and fields melting down blues and pop, jazz and disco, pushing air molecules around with instruments and making friends in the process. It’s all very lovely. It helps that they are fronted by Ríoghnach Connolly “a remarkable singer and flautist who…can ease from Irish traditional influences to soul” (The Guardian).
