Cosán Ghabhla – Art and Poetry Walk on Gabhla Island

Take a seafaring trip to Gabhla Island and join us there on a short walk of art and poetry with Scottish and Irish writers and artists.

On the walk you can see the artist’s work and listen to their poems and stories on the theme of Island Time. This is a great chance to engage with art and poetry in a relaxed outdoor setting with majestic views of the Donegal landscape and the islands around Gabhla as the perfect backdrop.

Newly composed writing by the poet Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh from Kerry, the Scottish based poet Rody Gorman and Donegal writers Máirín Uí Fhearraigh and Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhríde. Artwork by Sandra Kennedy from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Úna Ní Shé from Kerry and Kim Sharkey from Donegal.

The boat, The Cricket, will leave the New Pier in Machaire Gathlán at 3pm and the walk will begin at 3:30pm.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the Irish summer and bring a jacket or coat for the boat trip.

Imeacht ama ar Oileán Mara, a production of Baird Nua-Aoiseacha
